A Message from Ms. Selvey
Welcome to Barnwell Primary School!
Our theme this year centers around the book, Have You Filled a Bucket Today? A Guide to Daily Happiness for Kids, written by Carol McCloud. The book shows how being kind, considerate and respectful to those around us ultimately helps us feel better about ourselves. Staff and students will focus on filling the buckets of others within our school and throughout the community during the school year. We'll be tweeting and sharing our acts of compassion and kindness on our school Facebook and Twitter pages.
Our main goal is always to increase our student’s learning. To accomplish this goal we want to create more of an excitement for learning with students, parents, and teachers. The 1:1 initiative, hands-on lessons, wide array of classroom books, and enthusiastic teachers will make our students eager to learn. We offer a fun learning process to reach the high academic standards we set for our students.
I expect my staff to work cooperatively with parents, so your child can reach their full potential. We offer many events during the school year to create a way for parents and community members to become involved. We encourage your involvement in our school. We are partners in the education of your child.
Barnwell Primary School is now enrolling new students for our 4K CERDEP (Child Early Reading Development and Education Program) classes and 5K classes. Please stop by the main office of the school to complete an enrollment packet. Be sure to bring required documentation with you so you won't have to make a second trip to the school.
Enrollment in each of these classes is based on the age of the child as of September 1, 2018.

To enroll your child, you must have the following documentation:
Wilson named Barnwell Primary School Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to Mrs. Meredith Wilson for being selected by the faculty and staff to represent them as Barnwell Primary School's Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Wilson is currently a Kindergarten teacher at Barnwell Primary. Principal Donna Selvey commended Mrs. Wilson for "being an exceptional teacher that cares for students not only during the year that they are in her class, but one who cares for students throughout their lifetimes."
Mrs. Wilson will represent Barnwell Primary School in the next stage of competition for Barnwell District 45's Teacher of the Year.
The Teacher of the Year program celebrates excellence and strengthens the teaching force by honoring and recognizing teachers on the school, district, state, and national levels.
Thank you, Business Partners!
